This AI generated clip follows the events from Season 1 of the Obi-Wan Kenobi streaming series, which I happened to like. (Many people didn't.)
However, today I finished the audiobook Star Wars Master & Apprentice. As if Youtube read my mind by showing me this video, their conversation in the video flows naturally from the end of that novel and even repeats some of the text.

I have mixed feelings about the book. It is very entertaining, but it creates an artificial conflict between a young Obi-Wan Kenobi and his master Qui-Gon Jinn, which naturally gets resolved by the end of the book. There is also conflict with other Jedi.
Hey John,
ReplyDeleteThat’s a great connection you made between Master & Apprentice and the Obi-Wan series. I agree, the book definitely leans into that “manufactured tension” between Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan, but at the same time it does give some depth to why Obi-Wan eventually grows into the Jedi we see later. I think that friction is what makes their bond at the end feel more earned, even if it felt a bit forced along the way. Interesting that YouTube lined up the video right after you finished the book — almost like the algorithm is a Jedi itself.
Best regards,
