I don’t know where to start, but I seemed to have missed key moments in season 9. They hit us with so many new characters in season 9 that I started to get confused. Season 10 seems to take off in completely new directions, but what really struck me as odd was …
1. Clark’s new female reporter partner at the Daily Planet is a “masked heroes are evil vigilantes and must be stopped” kind of girl.
2. Michael Shanks shows up as “Hawkman” who is the reincarnate of some Egyptian king and believes Louis Lane to be his reincarnated bride. Here, Hawkman is an archeologist, and when he was talking about Ra the sun god, it was like Michael Shanks was playing Daniel Jackson (the archaeologist) again on Stargate SG-1. (In the Stargate the movie, they killed Ra, who was really an alien.) I have to wonder if Michael Shanks savored this role or felt typecast.
