Doctor Who boldly goes with a choice that defines the franchise

I have not yet watched the new season of Doctor Who because the last season was so terrible. Maybe not terrible, but not particularly good. The three years with the previous Doctor were not great either, but the show redeemed itself in his third season.

Ten years ago this show was brilliant. It had a story arc that was amazingly epic. The Matt Smith years as Doctor Who were the best, because he had the best stories, although David Tennant is a close second.

It has been on an uneven decline since then. The old show runners have long since departed, and the show has lost its magic.
